"Today" by Brad Paisley

Being a country music fan I decided to pick "Today" by Brad Paisley to discuss for a bit. This song was released in 2016 and became Paisley's 24th No 1 song. This song became viral mostly due to the music video which is very emotional and real. There's multiple couples proposing on stage at Paisley's concerts and it almost seems like he always picked them out of the crowd. This moves people emotionally as that's a huge point in many peoples lives and they reminisce. We also see many homecomings for soldiers at all different events which is very moving. These emotional scenes added with the lyrics make for a very appealing song as it reminds us to focus on today and be thankful for it. With all the technology we have today it's easy to get sidetracked or focused on tomorrow when something great is happening in front of you. Overall the song didn't change media landscapes because it doesn't focus on that, but focuses on an emotional appeal. You can see in the music video that somebody is recording everything that we see which is fantastic. Imagine if we didn't have cell phones or cameras that could take videos and pictures whenever we want.
